I was primarily motivated to join the RTG by its strong interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment, which brings together scientists from diverse fields. I believe such an environment is essential for fully addressing my scientific interests and to building up a successful scientific career.

Project Topic: copper-based chalcogenide nanoparticles for photodetectors and light emitting diodes (A8)

Supervisors:

Mentor: Dr. Vladimir Lesnyak
Co-Mentors: Prof. Andreas Fery, Prof. Caroline Murawski (RTG supervisor)

I am exploring different synthetic routes for synthesis of novel RoHS-compliant Cu-based semiconductor nanoparticles and their further functionalization, which are further integrated as active layer in quantum dot based light emitting diodes (QLEDs) by Simon Letzer (B12) and in infrared photdetectors by Moritz Flemming (B11).
