cfaed Research Group Leader Dr.-Ing. Martin Claus held an international summer course in Computational Electronics (CELTIC) at the Universidade de Brasília (UnB). The summer course was about current transport phenomena in organic semiconductors. With this course, being already the second edition, Dr. Claus' fifth research stay within the CAPES project NAnoPiE at UnB ended.

The summer course gave students from South America the chance to learn about the simulation and modeling of inorganic and organic electronic devices from a practical and theoretical point of view. "The best about the course is the unique practical training on numerical device simulation where you see how and why the electrons are flowing through the devices", summarized one of the students her impression about the course.

In 2014, Martin was invited to strengthen the international profile of the graduate program in Electronic and Automation Systems Engineering (PGEA) at UnB. "This invitation was a unique opportunity to develop and independently teach graduate courses covering fascinating aspects of the research pursued at cfaed", acknowledged Martin.

NAnoPiE is a bi-national three-year research project on organic electronics with Prof. Dr. Stefan Blawid and his group at UnB exploiting the enormous Brazilian plant resources such as the fruits of the Buriti Palm and Urucum to develop inks for printable green organic electronics. The fundamentals for this research are taught within CELTIC preparing the students to directly benefit and prepare them for this fast growing research field.
