cfaed congratulates Yana Vaynzof and her team on achieving what they had hoped for: the funding for the Cluster of Excellence “REC² – Responsible Electronics in the Climate Change Era” has today been granted by German Research Foundation (DFG) and the German Science and Humanities Council (WR). What a tremendous success for the hardworking team who have spent so many hours shaping their ideas into a proposal that will now receive well-deserved funding for seven years. This strengthens Dresden as THE microelectronics hub in Europe. TU Dresden and the involved DRESDEN-concept partners will play a major role in revolutionizing the way we do our basic electronics research. Exciting times to come.
Congratulations! Well done! Time to celebrate!

About REC²:
Electronics offer numerous advantages for our lives, but at the cost of enormous resource and energy consumption and the generation of electronic waste. The REC² cluster creates the scientific basis for the electronics of the future: new material platforms, component concepts and integrated systems with which responsible electronics can be realized in an ecologically, economically and socially sustainable way.

On April 3, 2025, the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1415, in close cooperation with the Graduate School (GRK) 2861, invited a total of 8 female students to participate in Girls' Day 2025. During the workshop "Insights into Chemistry," the students spent an exciting morning in the student laboratory, gaining hands-on experience by conducting simple chemical experiments. Furthermore, the participants learned what the future of chemistry might look like by having the opportunity to program their own LEGO-based chemistry robot.
The workshop was complemented by a lunch with some young female scientists from the Faculty of Chemistry and Food Chemistry, as well as participants from other Girls' Day workshop offerings. In a relaxed atmosphere, the students had the chance to network and exchange ideas with the young scientists and other interested participants.
